New chicken formats make their debut across foodservice menus.
Jollibee has launched its reformulated chicken tenders. The item is made using all-white meat chicken tenderloins and features a light, hand-breaded coating. Additionally, Jollibee is expanding its dipping sauce lineup with its signature tender sauce.
Subway unveiled its latest innovation in the footlong cookie line, the Oreo footlong cookie. Developed in partnership with Mondelez International, the cookie is formulated with Subway’s chocolate cookie dough and Oreo cookies pieces and then topped with vanilla cream and more Oreo cookie pieces.
“Subway worked closely with the Oreo cookie experts to create something that fans of both brands are going to love — the ideal blend of our popular double chocolate cookie with the delicious crunch of their signature cookie and creme filling,” said Paul Fabre, senior vice president of culinary and innovation at Subway.
Arizona-based sandwich chain Blimpie has expanded its submarine sandwich lineup with three sandwiches. The tuna melt sandwich features tuna, American cheese, bacon, tomatoes, spinach and mayonnaise on a ciabatta bread base. The Italiano combines ham, capicola, proscuittini, salami and pepperoni with provolone cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, onions, black olives, oregano, mayonnaise, vinegar and oil. The Blimpie best deluxe offers ham, salami, capicola, proscuittini, provolone cheese, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and banana peppers with mayonnaise, vinegar, oil and oregano.
“We're elevating our delicious signature tuna sub with the debut of the handcrafted tuna melt, which has a flavorful balance of creamy tuna, layered with cheese, savory bacon and veggies served warm on ciabatta bread for a satisfying sub we know tuna lovers will enjoy,” said Sam Carity, director of marketing for Kahala Brands, parent company of Blimpie.
KFC, a subsidiary of Yum! Brands, has teamed up with Mike’s Hot Honey to add some sweet heat to its menu with two offerings. The items include a two-piece fried chicken meal or three-piece chicken tender meal, each featuring a drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey condiment.
In celebration of Valentine’s Day, Krispy Kreme has launched the Hearts in Bloom donut collection.
Included in the collection are the You Make My Daisy Doughnut, an unglazed donut filled with white crème and topped with strawberry icing, yellow icing and a daisy candy piece; the Love You Bunches Doughnut, an unglazed donut filled with chocolate crème and topped with red icing, green icing stems and red and pink confectionery curls; the Blooming Heart Doughnut, an unglazed donut with cookies and crème filling that is dipped in purple icing and topped with sprinkles; and the You Are My Sunshine Doughnut, an unglazed donut filled with caramel-flavored crème then dipped in chocolate icing and topped with green icing and a sunflower candy piece.
Corner Bakery Cafe has debuted the Teddy Latte. The beverage combines a shot of espresso with the company’s “Teddy Milk,” whole milk blended with honey, brown sugar, cinnamon and vanilla. The Teddy Latte is topped with a honey drizzle and Teddy Grahams.
“At Corner Bakery, we're all about creating experiences that bring a little extra joy to our guests,” said Erin Hasselgren, president of Corner Bakery. “The Teddy Latte embodies the warmth, comfort, and playfulness we aim to deliver with every visit.”
Fast-casual pizza chain Russo’s New York Pizzeria & Italian Kitchen has added two pesto-inspired menu items. The company’s pesto chicken pasta features Russo’s pistachio pesto sauce, broccolini, artichoke hearts, Roma tomatoes and Campanella pasta, and the pistachio pesto pizza, a New York-style pie with pistachio pesto sauce, mozzarella cheese, Roma tomatoes and grilled chicken breast.
Russo’s also launched an Old World pepperoni pizza, burrata dip and gnocchi burrata.
“We know our guests are looking for healthier ingredients,” said Anthony Russo, founder of the company. “We want to be the best pizzeria in town, and that means offering fresh, high-quality ingredients in every dish.”
Krispy Krunchy Chicken, a store-in-store quick-service restaurant chain, has expanded its menu with a chicken nugget format. The nuggets are made from whole-muscle white chicken breast, which is marinated in a seasoning blend and coated with the company’s “krunchy” breading.
More than 400 products were introduced at the annual event.
Launches over the last year include white chocolate cookies, Pop’ums pretzel snacks and more.
