Protein content and unique applications have been key focuses for manufacturers.
Chobani is introduced a line of Greek yogurt products that are high in protein. The line features 6.7-oz yogurt cups with 20 grams of protein and drink varieties with options of 15 grams, 20 grams and 30 grams of protein in 7-oz, 10-oz and 14-oz bottles, respectively.
Cup product flavors include vanilla, strawberry kiwi, mango, raspberry lemon and cherry berry, and drink flavors include strawberries and cream, tropical punch, mixed berry vanilla, vanilla, cookies and cream, peaches and cream and cherry vanilla.
Yogurt bar maker Clio Snacks expanded its portfolio of refrigerated Greek yogurt bars dipped in chocolate with a miniaturized format. The mini bars are formulated with whole milk yogurt, fruit and are dipped in a yogurt coating. Flavors include strawberry banana and mixed berry.
“We are thrilled to expand our product lineup with this innovative new offering that transforms yogurt into a delightful, grab-and-go snack that can be enjoyed any time of the day,” said John McGuckin, chief executive officer of Clio Snacks.
The Kraft Heinz Co. has launched a cream cheese-flavored frosting line under its Philadelphia brand. Derived from milk and cream, the refrigerated frosting is intended as an easy-to-use format with no preparation or cleanup required, according to the company.
“Bringing the creamy deliciousness of Philadelphia to the frosting category just makes sense and it’s a great example of how we’re giving our fans new ways they can enjoy Philly in the kitchen,” said Becca Dunphey, president of taste, meals and snacking at The Kraft Heinz Co. “With Philadelphia Frosting, consumers don’t need to compromise on taste or convenience.”
The Kraft Heinz Co. has debuted a new dairy spread under its A.1. steak sauce brand. The A.1. steakhouse butter aims to elevate home cooking and emulate a restaurant-quality experience, featuring a blend of herbs and A.1. sauce to create tangy flavor notes, according to the company.
Kraft Natural Cheese, a Lactalis American Group brand, launched Kraft Signature Shreds, marking the brand’s first innovation since it was acquired in 2021. Featuring Kraft cheeses and whole-milk mozzarella from Lactalis’ foodservice portfolio, the product line is aimed at consumers seeking restaurant-style, thick-cut cheese options for home cooking applications. Flavor varieties include a cheddar blend, a mozzarella blend and a Mexican blend.
“Now, more than ever, families seek ways to enhance homemade meals, improve the quality of their at-home cooking and recreate the restaurant experience at home without sacrificing time or resources,” said Ken Padgett, director of marketing for Kraft Natural Cheese.
SunOpta, Inc. has added a plant-based cold foaming cream under its Sown brand. The oat foaming cream is non-GMO certified, gluten-free and kosher, according to the company, and comes in 32-oz cartons.
“Sown oat cold foaming cream offers our consumers a simple and affordable way to enjoy the coffeehouse treats they love in the convenience of their own homes,” said Scott Carter, vice president of growth and innovation for SunOpta.
Better-for-you beverage manufacturer Nurri has unveiled its flagship protein milkshake product. Formulated with ultra-filtered milk, the ready-to-drink beverage is lactose free and contains 30 grams of protein and 1 gram of sugar per 11-oz serving.
The product is intended to be served as a standalone beverage, either chilled, over ice or at room temperature, or mixed with coffee.
“With rising demands and significant supply constraints in the ultra-filtered milk protein beverage market, we saw a unique opportunity to bring something fresh and different,” said Tom Lehocky, vice president of sales at Nurri.
Danone North America brand Silk has debuted Silk Kids, a plant-based milk alternative aimed at children. The product is formulated from oat and peas and has 8 grams of protein per serving.
