Seasonal menus continue to expand with limited-time offerings.
Sonic Drive-In is debuting an orange cloudsicle slush float and a cheesy bacon stack cheeseburger for the summer.
The orange cloudsicle slush float is a blend of orange cloudsicle-flavored slush and orange vanilla flavor bubbles, topped with a creamy soft serve. It will be available for a limited time. The cheesy bacon stack cheeseburger features a seasoned beef patty, topped with bacon, two slices of American cheese, crinkle-cut pickles, diced onions, ketchup, mayo and served on Texas toast.
“Knowing orange cream would be a major trending flavor for summer treats this year, we were inspired to create the perfectly sweet and tangy orange cloudsicle slush float for our fans,” said Mackenzie Gibson, vice president of culinary and menu innovation at Sonic. “For guests who are looking for something heartier to fuel their summer adventures, the cheesy bacon Sonic stack is a craveable, unique addition to our cheeseburger selection that’s packed with flavor.”
Qdoba is adding Mexican street corn to its menus, which features a blend of sweet corn, poblano chiles, red bell peppers, a creamy elote sauce and lime juice.
"Inspired by the authentic street food of Mexico, our new Loaded Mexican Street Corn is the perfect side to enjoy with any entrée," said Kim Zamir, vice president of marketing at Qdoba. "We know corn has always been a delicious complement to our food, and we are excited to take it up a notch with our latest menu addition. This warm, creamy option differentiates the Qdoba brand in the marketplace, and we expect it to become a guest favorite.”
Dunkin’ is “capturing the taste of summer” with the introduction of several new seasonal beverages, including the watermelon refresher, blueberry donut iced coffee and vanilla frosted donut signature latte. Dunkin’ is also adding a watermelon burst donut, which is filled with watermelon-flavored jelly and coated with sweet red sugar, and a green goddess wrap.
Subway Canada is looking to expand its Subway Series menu, which features globally inspired sandwiches. The line-up of globally inspired sandwiches includes five sandwiches and one bowl:
“Canada is breaking up with boring. Our research shows that Canadians, especially Gen Z, crave culinary exploration,” said Lisa Mazurkewich, head of marketing at Subway Canada. “Our menu is inspired by the multicultural landscape of Canada. It’s a twist on what you expect from Subway, and we’re so excited for everyone to try it.”
Carl’s Jr. is bringing back its El Diablo burger as a now permanent menu item. The spicy El Diablo burger features two beef patties, two strips of bacon, jalapeño popper bites, pepperjack cheese and a habanero ranch sauce. In addition to the burger, consumers can also order a new El Diablo chicken tender wrap and El Diablo loaded fries.
Taco Cabana added limited-time menu items, including breakfast, lunch and dinner tortas, loaded fries, and happy hour offerings.
The breakfast tortas include bacon and egg, chorizo and egg, and country sausage and egg varieties, while lunch and dinner options include carne asada, steak fajita and chicken fajita options. Each sandwich features refried beans, pico de gallo and shredded cheese, and the lunch and dinner options also include shredded lettuce.
