Retailers and foodservice locations launch seasonal Valentine’s Day-themed additions.
For the first time, Babybel is adding a limited-edition heart-shaped snacking cheese. The product is made from Babybel’s same cheese, wrapped in its signature red wax, although it is offered in a larger format that is serrated down the middle.
“There’s so much love for cheese year-round, but especially during the most romantic time of the year, which is why we’re excited to give fans the chance to win a product that’s never been created by Babybel before,” said Melanie Nemoy, Babybel brand director.
General Mills also is bringing back its Valentine’s Day favorites across its various brands.

Krispy Kreme added its Valentine’s Day collection, “Dough-Notes.” The collection features four flavors:
“People aren’t just craving delicious donuts, they crave connection, and our new collection satisfies both needs,” said Dave Skena, global chief brand officer for Krispy Kreme. “A dozen Valentine’s Day donuts in our custom Dough-Notes dozens box is the perfect gesture to show someone special in your life how much you love and care about them.”
Mars debuted its line-up of new and returning Valentine’s Day sweet treats across its brands. The Dove brand is expanding this year with the launch of Promises dark chocolate and strawberry swirl candies, which pair a sweet strawberry swirl with the bite of dark chocolate. Other Mars brands, like M&M’s and Lifesavers, also are bringing back returning seasonal favorites.
Dunkin’ expanded its retail presence with the introduction of brownie batter coffee creamer, inspired by the seasonal brownie batter donut.
“The brownie batter signature latte was a hit in Dunkin’ restaurants last year, and we couldn’t be more excited to bring this delicious offering to the at-home coffee experience,” said Brian Gilbert, vice president, retail business development for Dunkin’. “While it’s a limited-time offering, there’s plenty of Dunkin’ Brownie Batter Creamer to go around — so don’t worry, there’s no need to fight for the last lick of brownie batter like we’ve all done when baking with family and friends.”
MOD Super-Fast Pizza Holdings added a limited-edition red velvet cake with cream cheese filling that is topped with heart-shaped sprinkles.
“Our Red Velvet No Name Cake is a decadent, craveable treat that is the perfect combination of rich, creamy, and sweet,” said Scott Uehlein, vice president of culinary excellence and innovation at MOD. “With Valentine’s Day coming up and spring fast approaching, it is a great way to finish a meal at MOD.”
IHOP launched its Pancake of the Month program with its first offering: chocolate strawberry pancakes. The pancakes, inspired by Valentine’s Day, feature four chocolate chocolate chip pancakes, topped with cheesecake mousse and drizzled with chocolate sauce, sliced strawberries, whipped topping and chocolate chips.
Peter Piper Pizza brought back its heart-shaped pizza for a limited time. For every pizza sold, Peter Piper Pizza will donate $1 to Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals, according to the company.
Maggiano’s Little Italy brought back its Valentine’s Day dine-in and carryout menus for the month of February. The menu features items like a shrimp Parmesan appetizer, bone-in veal Parmesan and salmon Oscar.
“We are excited to kick-start 2024 with some brand-new and well-loved offerings for our guests,” said Larry Konecny, chief concept officer and vice president of Maggiano's Little Italy.
Baskin-Robbins is bringing back its Love Potion #31 flavor, which features a combination of white chocolate and raspberry-flavored ice creams, raspberry-filled chocolate-flavored hearts, raspberry swirls and chocolate chips.
“Love Potion #31 has captured hearts for more than 20 years, and it continues to be one of our most requested seasonal scoops,” said Jeanne Bolger, director of culinary development for Baskin-Robbins.
Sonic Drive-In launched the Reba Sweetheart Meal through a partnership with American country music singer Reba McEntire. The Sweetheart Meal features the new chocolate covered strawberry shake, a cheeseburger and tater tots.
More than 400 products were introduced at the annual event.
Launches over the last year include white chocolate cookies, Pop’ums pretzel snacks and more.
