LAMPERTHEIM, GERMANY — BASF plans to sell a plant in Brattvåg, Norway, that produces low concentrated omega-3 fatty acids and turn its focus to production for the market for highly concentrated omega-3 fatty acids, the company said April 25. Because of the planned measures, BASF will eliminate about 260 positions globally in production, marketing and administration by the end of 2015.
Marketing, sales and administration will be better adjusted to regional market dynamics, the company said. In the future a global team responsible for marketing and innovation will support product development and will aim for faster market launches of new products.
