KANSAS CITY — Chicken innovations have become a recent focal point for foodservice operators.
Fried chicken maker Jollibee continues to explore convenient chicken formats with the launch of its chicken tenders. Made with all-white meat chicken tenderloins, the tenders are hand breaded with a light coating. In addition to the chicken tenders Jollibee is launching its signature tender sauce.
“We know that for chicken tender lovers, there’s no substitute,” said Luis Velasco, senior vice president and marketing head at Jollibee Foods Corp., North America. “That’s why we crafted our new Jollibee chicken tenders with them in mind, focusing on quality and superior flavor in each bite. We’re confident our new recipe will become an instant favorite and impress even the most discerning palates.”
Yum! Brands subsidiary KFC has partnered with Mike’s Hot Honey to debut two limited time “swicy” offerings. The collaboration includes a three-piece tender meal with the company’s original recipe tenders and a drizzle of Mike’s Hot Honey and a two-piece fried chicken meal with original or extra crispy fried chicken drizzled with Mike’s Hot Honey.
“Combining KFC’s flavorful fried chicken with the bold, sweet heat of Mike’s Hot Honey just makes sense,” said Catherine Tan-Gillespie, chief marketing officer and development officer, KFC US. “Crispy, juicy, salty, spicy, sweet — it’s food alchemy that’s meant to be.”
Atlanta-based Krispy Krunchy Chicken added chicken nuggets to its menu. The format features whole-muscle white chicken breast marinated in a seasoning blend and coated with the company’s “krunchy” breading.
“We’re excited to introduce this product to consumers and provide our operators with a product that’s proven in market testing to drive in new customers and increase overall sales,” said Jim Norberg, chief executive officer of Krispy Krunchy Chicken.
