NORTHLAKE, TEXAS — Farmer Brothers has named John Moore as its president and chief executive officer. Moore has been the company’s interim CEO since October 2023.

In July 2023, Moore was named vice president and head of coffee for the company. In this role, Moore oversaw the company’s green coffee procurement, research and development, coffee excellence, roasting and manufacturing, and coffee sustainability initiatives, the company said.

Before joining the company in May 2023, Moore was most recently CEO of Vassilaros Coffee from 2018 to 2023.

He also has held positions like senior trader and general manager at Volcafe Specialty Coffee and was the CEO and managing partner of FAL Coffee Inc. He also was the vice president of sales and marketing at Octavio Inc., dba Dallis Coffee.

“John has more than 30 years of experience in the coffee industry and has worked directly in every stage of the coffee value chain at both a national and international level,” said Dave Pace, chairman of the board for Farmer Brothers. “His deep expertise and proven leadership will guide Farmer Brothers as we reposition the company and focus on leveraging our nationwide direct-store delivery system to build a differentiated and sustainable platform for growth.”

Farmer Brothers Co. is a coffee roaster, wholesaler, equipment servicer and distributor of coffee, tea, and culinary products, according to the company. The company owns such brands as Farmer Brothers, Boyd’s, Cain’s China Mist and West Coast Coffee.
