SPRINGDALE, ARK. – Poultry processor House of Raeford Farms is acquiring a poultry complex in Vienna, Ga., from Tyson Foods, Inc., Springdale, Ark. Terms of the sale were not disclosed.
Based in Rose Hill, NC, House of Raeford Farms is a processor of fresh and value-added chicken. Brands owned by the company include House of Raeford, Filet of Chicken and Speedy Bird.
Tyson Foods said the sale of the plant is part of its efforts to optimize its supply chain. The company has closed several plants in the past year, including a pork processing plant in Perry, Iowa, as well as plants in Jacksonville, Fla.; Columbia, SC; Little Rock and Van Buren, Ark.; Glen Allen, Va.; Corydon, Ind.; and Dexter and Noel, Mo.
